Location
The electrohydraulic power steering is under the right headlamp behind the front bumper.
Task
The task of the electrohydraulic P/S is divided up into the following subtasks:
- Regulation of the power steering pump
- Evaluation of input and output signals
Regulation of the power steering pump
Depending on the request (vehicle standstill, vehicle speed), the power steering pump is regulated by the electrohydraulic power steering as per a specified characteristics map.
Evaluation of input and output signals
Direct input signals
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 15
- Circuit 31
Chassis CAN (CAN E) signals
- Electronic ignition lock control unit (N73), battery voltage
- Steering column tube module control unit (N80), steering angle and steering angle rate of change
- IC (A1), transfer of current vehicle speed from IC and transfer of signals for instrument cluster messages to the IC
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), onboard electrical system status
