REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Buffer the basic data of the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7) in Star Diagnosis When installing a new automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Copy the buffered basic data to the new automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7).  
2 Move selector lever or gearshift lever to rearmost position Depending on vehicle equipment.  
3 Switch off ignition    
4 Remove center air vent MODEL 204.0/2

5 Remove radio Model 204.0/2 as of model year 2012/AEJ 11, model 204.3, model 204.9 up to model year 2013/AEJ12 With code (523) MB Audio 20 radio, with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer, with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio, with code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation), with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer

6 Unclip cover (6) from upper control panel control unit (N72/1) Model 204.9  
7 Open cover (1) MODEL 204.0/2 up to 2/28/11

8 Unclip and remove cover (2) from instrument panel (4) MODEL 204.0/2 up to 2/28/11

NOTES Carefully release cover (2) using SPECIAL TOOL long wedge at all 4 corners.
Otherwise the covering (2) can bend or kink in the middle.

9 Use a suitable screwdriver to release the catch hooks (3) downwards through the openings (arrows) and unclip the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7) from the instrument panel (4), then pull it out until the electrical connectors (5) are accessible MODEL 204.0/2 up to 2/28/11

10 Remove screws/bolts (7) and pull automatic air conditioning operating unit (N22/7) out of instrument panel (4) until the electrical connectors (5) are accessible MODEL 204.0/2 as of 3/1/11, 204.3  
11 Disconnect electrical connectors (5)    
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Teach in and normalize the actuator motors

    IMPORTANT The actuator motor is taught in via STAR DIAGNOSIS.
