Programming using diagnostic system or "Xentry Kit" (Xentry flash)
The term "Xentry Flash" is used to designate the Daimler AG standard for programming control units.
A differentiation is made here between the following types of programming:
- Online programming
- Programming using flash support file (support through User Help Desk)
Further explanation of terms:
- Flashing: Programming of control units
- Software: Control unit software
- Flash support file: Contains the relevant data for determination of the control unit software by the diagnostic system User Help Desk.
Programming using flash support file (support through User Help Desk)
- The flash support file contains the solution of a concrete query for control unit programming.
- The flash support file must first be sent by the workshop to the diagnostic system User Help Desk (query data). The diagnostic system User Help Desk compiles the reply data as a flash support file and sends the data electronically to the workshop.
- Redocumentation in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) takes place automatically after control unit programming.
