Remove/install additional fan for COMAND - AR82.85-P-0005CW

MODEL 204 with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) with CODE (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer

REMOVING Removing     
1 Remove instrument cluster cover (11) Model 204.0/2/3 AR54.30-P-6015CW

2 Unclip steering column sleeve (12) from instrument panel (10) at both ends (arrows B) and pull over the steering column tube control unit (N80)    
3 Remove cover (1)    
4 Remove brake pedal cover (2)    
5 Disconnect electrical connector (4) from steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) On vehicles with code (275) memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror)  
6 Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) On vehicles with code (275) memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror)  
7 Remove bolt (5) IMPORTANT Screw/bolt (5) remains on air intake duct (6).  
8 Twist air intake duct (6) slightly and remove    
9 Pull air exhaust duct (7) out of connection (arrow A) and remove from instrument panel (10)    
10 Disconnect radio fan electrical connector (X120)    
11 Unscrew bolts (8, 9) until COMAND fan motor (M4/13) is loose IMPORTANT Use a flexible extension that is approx. 25 to 30 cm long and a compact cordless screwdriver to remove the screw/bolt (8). Bolts (8, 9) remain on COMAND fan motor (M4/13).
On model 204.9 remove the COMAND fan motor (M4/13) with the bolted-on blue bracket.
 
12 Remove COMAND fan motor (M4/13) from air conditioner housing (A32)    
INSTALLING Install     
13 Position COMAND fan motor (M4/13) onto air conditioner housing (A32)    
14 Tighten bolts (8, 9). IMPORTANT Use a flexible extension that is approx. 25 to 30 cm long and a compact cordless screwdriver to tighten the screw/bolt (8).  
15 Connect radio fan electrical connector (X120)    
16 Loosely position air exhaust duct (7) in instrument panel (10)    
17 Mount air intake duct (6) onto COMAND fan motor (M4/13) IMPORTANT Ensure that air intake duct (6) arrest completely in COMAND fan motor (M4/13). Otherwise the air intake duct (6) can work its way loose and thus generate noise.  
18 Insert steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) and tighten bolts (3) On vehicles with code (275) memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror)  
19 Connect electrical connector (4) to steering column raise/lower adjustment motor (M20/2) On vehicles with code (275) memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror)  
20 Insert air exhaust duct (7) into connection (arrow A) IMPORTANT Access and visual inspection via the installation opening of the steering column sleeve (12) in the instrument panel (10).  
21 Clip steering column sleeve (12) into instrument panel (10)    
22 Install instrument cluster cover (11) Model 204.0/2/3 AR54.30-P-6015CW

23 Tighten screw (5)    
24 Install brake pedal cover (2)    
25 Install cover (1)
