Task
The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Transmitting signals
Reading in of signals
Signals are read in via the following connection:
- Instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)
Instrument panel LIN
The upper control panel control unit reads in function feedback requests over the instrument panel LIN. These are sent from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
The activity of the following functions is indicated by the corresponding LEDs in the upper control panel control unit:
- Front passenger seat occupied and automatic child seat recognition
(with code (U18) Automatic child seat recognition (ACSR [AKSE]) or code (494) USA version or code (U10) front passenger seat with weight detection)
- Parking system (with code (220) PARKTRONIC or code (230) Exclusive Parking Assist or code (235) Active Parking Assist
- Rear window roller sun blind (with code (540) Roller sun blind)
- Front seat heater (with code (873) Heated left and right front seats or with code (401) Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
- Seat ventilation (with code (401) Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
- Vehicle dynamics (with code (483) ADVANCED AGILITY package)
- Downhill Speed Regulation (with code (430) Offroad package)
- Off-road program (with code (430) Offroad package)
- Start-stop function (with code (B03) ECO start-stop function)
- ESP® ON/OFF (for model 204.077/277/377, model 204.9)
- Stationary heater (with code (228) Stationary heater)
- Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW])
(with code (551) Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))
- AMG Performance Media display (for model 204.077/277/377 with code (255) AMG Performance Media)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Transmit signals
Signals are sent through the following connection:
- Instrument panel LIN
Instrument panel LIN
The upper control panel control unit sends the function requests for the integrated buttons over the instrument panel LIN to the front SAM control unit.
