Location
The exhaust system sound generator control unit is installed behind the left luggage compartment lining in the trunk.
Task
The exhaust system sound generator control unit has the following tasks:
- Actuating the speaker for exhaust system sound generator (H4/31)
- Reducing the total sound level of exhaust system
- Producing the desired sound pressure level

Body
The housing of exhaust system sound generator control unit is made of diecast aluminum and has a connector at the vehicle end (can be locked).
Function
The input factors are read in via drive train CAN (CAN C) and evaluated by the microprocessor in the exhaust system sound generator control unit. Then, the exhaust system sound generator speaker is activated.
