The ME-SFI [ME] control unit is located behind the front right wheelhouse, between the fender and side wall.

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit is located at the rear left in the engine compartment.

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit is located at the rear right in the engine compartment.

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit is located at the rear left in the engine compartment.

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit is located in the engine compartment in front of the left wheelhouse.

Design 

The housing of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit consists of aluminum and is designed as a shell concept unitary housing.

The housing contains measuring and control electronics for the engine control.

Task 

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit controls the engine control ME 9.7 AMG according to input signals.

The abbreviated designation "ME 9.7 AMG" means:

= otronic

= lectronic accelerator pedal

9.7  = Version 9.7 

AMG  = AMG  specific hardware and software

Function 

The following systems are controlled and coordinated by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit:

Dependent on the equipment and model, vehicle control units are networked with the ME-SFI [ME] control unit via the CAN data bus ( ontroller rea etwork). They can send data to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit depending on the function or receive data from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.

IMPORTANT The engine control in ME-SFI [ME] control unit is flashable. The software required to program the control units is provided on the STAR DIAGNOSIS DAS Update DVD.

Diagnosis 

For diagnostic purposes individual function can be actuated in a targeted way using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

Correction programming of individual performance maps and variant coding is also possible using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

The engine control in ME-SFI [ME] control unit is supplied with voltage via the engine circuit 87 relay.

The engine control in ME-SFI [ME] control unit is supplied with voltage via the engine circuit 87 relay.
