Remove/install rear window - AR67.20-P-3550GZ

REMOVING Remove     
NOTES Notes on remove/install rear window   AH67.20-P-2000-01T
1 Determine distance between bottom edge of rear-end door window (1) and edge of rear- end door paneling added If old rear-end door window (1) is still present on rear-end door.
IMPORTANT These dimensions are required for installation.

3 Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go: Press keyless go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).  
4 Remove rear spoiler MODEL 166
without CODE Z04 (Light armoring)
without CODE Z05(B5 armoring on special protection version)

5 Remove tailgate wiper motor   AR82.30-P-6900GZ
6 Disconnect electrical connectors (2, 3) and fix in place on rear-end door or rear-end door window (1) with adhesive tape    
7.1 Disconnect electrical connector (5) and fasten to rear-end door with adhesive tape MODEL 164  
7.2 Remove ground line (6) from rear-end door and fix in place on rear-end door window (1) with adhesive tape MODEL 166  
8 Pull out rubber grommet (4)    
9 Secure window (1) with textile adhesive tape against falling down when cutting out    
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
10 Cut rear-end door window (1) with Roll Out 2004 window removal tool   AR67.10-P-1000-11SX
NOTES Mask areas around rear-end door window (1). Prevent damaging vehicle paintwork in repair area.

INSTALLING Install     
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area Pay attention to notes concerning the preparation of new parts such as the A-pillar, the roof or the side walls. AH98.00-P-9408-06A
11 Prepare body flange for installation of window   AR67.20-P-2000-09GZ
Hepox 2K EP primer filler 4017 (Spray Max) *BR00.45-Z-1050-07A

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

12 Align rear window (1) in body opening If old rear-end door window (1) is no longer present on rear-end door.
IMPORTANT Position rear-end door window (1) in body opening with aid of helper and center so that distance between rear-end door window (1) and rear-end door paneling edge can be determined and noted. Attach adhesive strips (A) as centering aid, cut along outer edge of window and remove rear-end door window (1).
 
13 Open driver-side window NOTES
The side window in the driver door must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the rear-end door window (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when a door is closed.
 
14 Install new rubber window spacers on rear-end door   AR67.20-P-3550-02GZ

15 Prepare rear window (1) for installation   AR67.20-P-1000-07GZ
Repair kit, installing windshields, 1-component adhesive BR00.45-Z-1135-02A
16 Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers    
17 Apply adhesive material to rear-end door window (1)   AR67.20-P-2000-08GZ
NOTES Install rear-end door window (1) within 10 minutes after applying adhesive material to rear-end door flange.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

IMPORTANT Helper required. When aligning, observe noted dimensions between bottom edge of rear-end door window (1) to edge of rear-end door paneling.
IMPORTANT After installing the rear-end door window (1) the vehicle should not be moved before the adhesive has dried (comply with manufacturer's specifications).

19 Insert rubber grommet (4)

21 Connect electrical connectors (2, 3)

23 Install rear spoiler MODEL 166

24 Clean rear-end door window (1), adjacent painted parts and vehicle interior    
25 Check all electrical consumers in area repaired for proper function
