	Risk of death  due to high voltage in xenon headlamps. Risk of explosion/risk of fire  caused by highly flammable materials in the vicinity of damaged xenon bulbs. Risk of injury  caused by UV light, hot components at xenon headlamps and glass splinters produced by bursting xenon bulbs. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhalation of mercury vapors and by toxic salts and mercury compounds being ingested or coming into contact with skin	Do not touch parts conducting high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants  (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off the entire lighting system. Wear insulated safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area.	AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
	Remove/install
1	Read out operating counter	Only when replacing xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10).

	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		Set operating counter to zero.
2	Switch off exterior lights	Always switch off exterior lights before changing bulbs. Otherwise, a short circuit may occur.
3	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit
4	Remove front lamp unit	Only with electrohydraulic power steering and when removing right standing light and parking light (E2e3).

5	Remove front section of fender liner in front fender	Only when removing side marker lamps (E1e6, E2e6).

6	Remove air filter housing	Model 164.195 Only when removing right standing light and parking light (E2e3).
7	Remove corresponding housing cover	Only when removing high beams (E1e1, E2e1) or low beams (E1e2, E2e2) or bi-xenon lights with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10).
8	Turn high beam socket to left and remove, remove left high beam (E1e1) or right high beam (E2e1) from high beam socket	Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
9	Turn low beam socket to left and remove, remove left low beam (E1e2) or right low beam (E2e2) from low beam socket	Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
10	Turn standing light and parking light socket to left and remove, remove left standing light and parking light (E1e3) or right standing light and parking light (E2e3) from standing light and parking light socket	Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
11	Remove left turn signal light (E1e5) or right turn signal light (E2e5) from front lamp unit	Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
12	Turn side marker lamp socket to left and remove, remove left side marker lamp (E1e6) or right side marker lamp (E2e6) from side marker lamp socket	Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
13	Release mounting clip, remove left bi-xenon light with integrated ignition module (E1e10) or right bi-xenon light with integrated ignition module (E2e10) and disconnect electrical connector	Except model 164.195 Do not touch glass bulbs with bare fingers. Use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged during operation due to overheating.
14	Install in the reverse order
