- Transmitting signals
Receive signals
- Direct line
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
Direct line
- Power supply via circuit 31 and circuit 30g, each via a direct line
- Electronic wake-up for MOST via a direct line
- TV 1 antenna in right rear side window via a coaxial line from right antenna amplifier module (A2/65)
- TV 2 antenna in rear window via a coaxial line from TV rear window antenna amplifier (A2/92)
- TV 3 antenna in rear window via a coaxial line from TV rear window antenna amplifier
- TV 4 antenna in left rear side window via a coaxial line from left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
MOST
The digital TV tuner is a MOST subscriber and communicates with the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.
As of 1.7.09 the TV digital tuner will support the following functions:
- Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
Enables reception and display of information on the broadcast (e.g. title, time, duration of broadcast, encryption, program category, age restriction, etc.).
- Broadcast Markup Language (BML)
Allows information that is transmitted by the available stations to be received and displayed in a structured way (e.g. weather, news, traffic information, etc.).
It is also possible to receive regional information.
- Two languages are supported, depending on station availability (e.g. Japanese and English).
- The rear entertainment system directly accesses the TV digital tuner because it operates independently of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
Transmitting signals
- Direct line
- MOST
Direct line
- Phantom voltage to the following amplifiers:
- Right antenna amplifier module
- TV rear window antenna amplifier
- Left antenna amplifier module
- Transmitting video signals via Y/C lines to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit
MOST
The digital TV tuner is a MOST subscriber and communicates with the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
