Location 

The hands-free system microphone group is integrated in the inside rearview mirror unit (A67).

Task 

The hands-free system microphone group converts sound waves into electrical signals and serves for:

Purpose without preequipment for portable CTEL 

If a UPCI (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) control unit (N123/1) is not installed, a microphone from the hands-free system microphone group will be discreetly wired to the emergency call system control unit (N123/4).

Purpose with preequipment for portable CTEL 

The hands-free system microphone group is discreetly connected to the UPCI (Universal portable CTEL Interface) control unit. A microphone from the hands-free system microphone group is discreetly connected to the emergency call system control unit over the UPCI (Universal portable CTEL Interface) control unit.
