Task and function 

The audio gateway control unit is the radio component in the audio and video equipment for Japanese vehicles. At the same time it is also the interface between the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) and the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B). It contains the functions:

• AM/FM receiver
• CAN-B interface (gateway between MOST and CAN-B)
• MOST ring master
• Central diagnostic interface for the MOST components
• Basic amplifier function
• The audio gateway control unit can be activated over CAN-B and a separate wake-up line

The audio gateway control unit can be configured through diagnosis.

The following can be selected:

• Frequency bands
• Speed-dependent volume control

Diagnosis 

The audio gateway control unit is connected over CAN-B with the central gateway control unit (N93) and can be diagnosed using the Keyword 2000 log.

The audio gateway control unit is the diagnosis gateway for all other MOST ring users.

On vehicles that are designated for the Japanese market, the voice control is integrated into the COMAND operating, display and control unit.
