Trailer sensing, function - GF82.10-P-3014GZ

MODEL 164.1 with CODE (550) Trailer hitch except CODE (494) USA version up to Model Year 2008

Function requirements 

Function sequence 

The trailer's connecting line is connected to the trailer hitch socket (13-pin). The trailer's left hand turn signal and stop lamp circuits are briefly energized from the rear SAM control unit.

The rear SAM control unit detects a closed circuit for the turn signal lamp or the electrically connected trailer's stop lamps.

The rear SAM control unit sends the "Trailer connected" CAN message via CAN-B.

The rear SAM control unit activates the actuation and monitoring of the trailer's lighting system.

IMPORTANTVehicles with Parktronic system (PTS), code 220 

The CAN message authorizes the PTS control unit to switch-off the Parktronic sensors in the rear bumper via CAN-B.
