Location

The telescopic nozzles are located below the left front lamp unit (E1) and right front lamp unit (E2), concealed by flaps behind the bumper.

Design

The telescopic nozzle is a hydraulically extending telescopic element with integrated return springs. It does not have any electrical connection.

Function

Water pressure drives the telescopic nozzles initially into the cleaning position. In doing so the flaps in the bumper are opened. Then, an additional increase in pressure at each telescopic nozzle opens a valve and the washer fluid is sprayed. Following a pressure drop, the telescopic nozzles are retracted with the aid of return springs to their starting position and the flaps in the bumper are closed by the spring action.
