Function 

The intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT transmits the position of the DIRECT SELECT gear selector switch (S16/13) to the central gateway control unit via CAN-C.

The central gateway control unit transmits this signal via CAN-B to the rear SAM control unit, which actuates the backup lamps. For code (550) Trailer hitch, the trailer backup lamp is also actuated.
