Remove/install rear spring - AR32.20-P-0230GX

MODEL 461, 463

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1 Lift/jack up vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000G
2 Remove rear wheels    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050G
3.1 Detach linkage of ALB controller (5) from axle housing Vehicles with ALB controller on axle housing  
3.2 Detach linkage from level sensor on trailing arm Vehicles without ALB controller on axle housing  
4 Support rear axle and secure to prevent it from falling down    
5 Detach hydraulic lines (4) at rear axle. IMPORTANT Seal connections immediately with stop plugs.  
    NOTES The brake fluid reservoir must not run empty, otherwise difficulties may be encountered when bleeding. Dripping brake fluid causes paint damage.

6 Detach electrical lines (7) at brackets    
7 Detach nuts (1) from dampers (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.25-P-1001-03E 
8 Pull bolts out of dampers (2)    
9 Lower rear axle. IMPORTANT Only lower the rear axle until the rear springs (3) can be removed.  
10 Remove rear springs (3) IMPORTANTInstallation  : Check plastic hose (6) at first thread at top and at bottom on rear spring (3) for damage and replace if necessary. Ensure rear spring (3) is seated correctly.  
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Bleed brake system and check for proper operation and leaktightness All except model 463.270/271 and model 463 with code (979) Special protection version AR42.10-P-0010GG

13 Bleed differential lock hydraulic system   AR33.40-P-0701GG
