Heating mode at a low in-car temperature or stationary ventilation at a high in-car temperature can be

preprogrammed via the instrument cluster (A1)

activated immediately by hand with the STH radio remote control transmitter (A8/3) or the STH switch (N72s12)

Three preselection times can be stored in the instrument cluster, of which only one can be activated in each case. The preselection times are entered and activated using the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel. The multifunction display in the instrument cluster serves here as a display instrument.

The heating mode or stationary ventilation can also be preprogrammed or immediately switched off manually with the STH radio remote control transmitter (A8/3) or the STH switch (N72s12) regardless of the previous type of activation.

The transmitter of the radio remote control has a maximum range of 300 m. The range can be limited due to obstacles between transmitter and vehicle or when the transmitter is operated in enclosed premises.

The radio signals of the transmitter are received via the STH radio remote control antenna (A2/49a4) and transmitted to the STH radio remote control receiver (A6/1).

The signals of the STH switch and the STH radio remote control receiver are switched directly to the STH control unit (A6n1) integrated in the heater.

The exchange of signals for the preprogrammed operation and the interior temperature-dependent function for heating or ventilating is transmitted by the instrument cluster (A1) and the STH control unit (A6n1) via the interior CAN (1).
