The engine 113 supercharger from AMG (M113K) is equipped with the ME 2.8.1 fuel injection and ignition system which has already been introduced on AMG models with engine M112K

The abbreviated designation ME 2.8.1 means:

M = M otronic

E = E lectronic accelerator pedal

2.8.1 = Version 2.8.1

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) includes the following systems:

Injection system
Ignition system
Emission control
Electronic accelerator
Cruise control function (up to 2004)
Drive authorization system
Diagnostic trouble code memory, diagnostic system

The following input signals are processed by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit:

Boost pressure
Boost air temperature
Coolant temperature
Engine speed and crankshaft position
Camshaft position
Throttle valve position
Air recirculation flap position (in model 230 only as of 07/2002)
Accelerator pedal position
O₂ sensor signals
Knock identification
Oil level, oil temperature and oil quality

Other input signals via the CAN data bus are:

Vehicle speed
Drive position detection
Cruise control detection
Brake recognition
Start enable (drive authorization system)
Crash signal

Depending on equipment and model, individual control units are networked with each other via the CAN data bus (C ontroller A rea N etwork).
