Function requirements for a maximum speed limit for the ME gasoline injection and ignition system (motor electronics) (ME), general points 

• Circuit 87M ON (engine control ON)
• Engine running

ME-SFI maximum speed limit, general points 

For vehicles with the corresponding engine power, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit limits the maximum speed to 210 km/h. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit receives information about the vehicle speed from the ESP control unit via the drive train CAN.

ME-SFI maximum speed limit function sequence 

If v = 210 km/h is reached, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit reduces the opening angle of the throttle valve of the throttle valve actuator and the injection times of the fuel injection valves (Y62).

These measures ensure simple maximum speed limitation the reduction of the engine torque.
