The telephone handset is located in the telephone compartment in the center console under the armrest.
Task
The telephone handset is the interface between the mobile phone and the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit (N123/1). The corresponding telephone handset enables mobile phone from different manufacturers to also be used. The telephone handset cannot be removed to make a telephone call. Each respective mobile phone is connected by the telephone handset directly to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit and through the E-net compensator (A28/3)
- for model 463.247/248/270/340/341 with the telephone and fax antenna
- for model 463.254/303 through the radio and telephone antenna splitter (A28/1) with the radio and cell phone antenna (A28)
The direct connection to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface control unit transmits an automatic switch-on or switch-off request to the telephone handset. At the same time, the voltage for charging the inserted mobile phone is supplied via this direct connection.
