Repair wiring harness by crimping - AR00.19-P-0100-03A

IMPORTANT The following work procedure is shown on a circular conductor.

  1. Select crimp contact based on table in SPECIAL TOOL wiring harness repair kit, SPECIAL TOOL basic wiring harness repair kit or SPECIAL TOOL new passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
  2. Strip line in accordance with table using SPECIAL TOOL wire stripper.

    NOTES Damaged wire leads can cause changes of the line cross-section and result in an unreliable strength of the crimp connection.

  3. SPECIAL TOOL Select crimping kit (1, 2) for SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers (3).

    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Select crimping kit (1, 2) based on the crimp contact model used in the SPECIAL TOOL wiring harness repair kit, SPECIAL TOOL basic wiring harness repair kit or SPECIAL TOOL new passenger car wiring harness repair kit. See  .

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Insert crimping kit (1, 2) into SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers (3).

    1. 5.1) SPECIAL TOOL Screw positioner onto SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers (arrow).

      IMPORTANT With SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers with screw cap.

    2. 5.2) SPECIAL TOOL Attach positioner with quick-release coupling to SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers.

      IMPORTANT With SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers with quick-release coupling.

      SPECIAL TOOL Positioners with screw cap can be replaced with positioners with SPECIAL TOOL quick-release coupling.

  5. Insert crimp contact (1) all the way into SPECIAL TOOL crimp nest (2) and into SPECIAL TOOL positioner (3) of SPECIAL TOOL die sets (4, 5).

    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Select crimp nest (2) according to cable cross section. Crimp contact (1) must be vertical between the SPECIAL TOOL die sets (4, 5).

  6. SPECIAL TOOL Close crimp pliers until crimp contact (2) is fixed in SPECIAL TOOL crimp nest (3).

    NOTES Do not deform the crimp contact (2) otherwise the cable (1) cannot be inserted correctly into the crimp contact (2).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that crimp contact (2) is seated correctly in SPECIAL TOOL positioner (4).

  7. Guide cable (1) into inserted crimp contact (2) (arrow).

  8. SPECIAL TOOL Squeeze crimp pliers until stop is reached remove crimped connection.

    IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL manual crimp pliers must be squeezed until stop is reached before they will open again.
