On vehicles with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or CODE 234 (Blind Spot Assist) up to 31.5.10, the variable speed limiter and the cruise control are integrated in the radar sensors control unit (N62/1).
As of 1.6.10, the variable speed limiter and the cruise control on vehicles with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or CODE 234 (Blind Spot Assist) or CODE 238 (Active Lane Keeping Assist) are integrated in the video and radar sensor system control unit (N62/2).
The Electronic Stability Program control unit or Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
- Vehicle dynamics CAN (CAN H)
Direct line
The following signals are read in via direct lines:
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
- Brake vacuum sensor (B64/1) (with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function))
- Brake lights switch (S9/1)
- Left front axle RPM sensor (L6/1)
- Right front axle RPM sensor (L6/2)
- Left rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3)
- Right rear axle RPM sensor (L6/4)
Chassis CAN
The Electronic Stability Program control unit (except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS), except CODE 990 (AMG vehicles)) or the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit (with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS)) or with CODE 990 (AMG vehicles)) is a subscriber on the chassis CAN. It communicates for instance with the following control unit:
- AIRmatic control unit (N51/3), with code 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with continuous variable damping))
- Supplemental restraint system control unit, component description (N2/10)
- Radar sensors control unit (with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or CODE 234 (Blind Spot Assist) (up to 31.5.10)
- Video and radar sensor system control unit (with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or CODE 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist) or CODE 238 (Active Lane Keeping Assist)) (as of 1.6.10)
- CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Steering column tube module control unit (N80)
- Fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4)
- Instrument cluster (A1)
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
Vehicle dynamics CAN
The data from the following component are read in via the vehicle dynamics CAN:
- Yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (B24/15)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following line:
- Direct line
Direct line
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (brake light actuation)
- Speed-sensitive power steering solenoid valve (Y10) (with code 213 (Speed-sensitive power steering))
- Power steering pump quantity control valve (Y10/1)
- Yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (power supply)
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (standstill coordinator status)
- Navigation processor (N41/1) (vehicle speed signal from left front axle RPM sensor) with CODE 965 (Electrical preinstallation for rental vehicle), with CODE 830 (China version) or with CODE 835 (South Korea version))
