Location 

The radio is integrated at the front in the center of the center console.

Tasks 

The radio has the following tasks:

Control unit for entertainment and communication systems 

The radio provides the user with a structured and uniform user interface for the entertainment and communication systems in the vehicle. The graphical display of the user interface is shown on the Audio/COMAND display.

Reading in of input signals as well as actuation of output media and system components 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) 

The radio exchanges data with the following control units over MOST:

CAN 

The radio is a subscriber of the interior CAN (CAN B) and the telematics CAN (CAN A).

Ethernet 

The radio is connected to the diagnostic connector (X11/4) via the Ethernet.

Direct line 

The radio is equipped with the following direct connections:
