TV tuner (analog/digital), component description - GF82.60-P-3106FQ
MODEL 218 with CODE (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
Illustrated on model 218.3
Location
The TV tuner (analog/digital) is located in the trunk on the right rear in front of the wheel well cutout behind the side wall lining on a bracket.
Task
The TV tuner (analog/digital) performs the following tasks:
- Receive signals
- Demodulating and decoding signals
- Transmit signals
Receive signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
The TV tuner (analog/digital) receives control signals over MOST from the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
Direct lines
The following signals are read in by the TV tuner (analog/digital):
- Power supply through circuit 31 and circuit 30g
- Wake-up signal from COMAND controller unit
- TV radio signals from:
- TV 1 antenna amplifier (A94/1) over a coaxial cable
- TV 2 antenna amplifier (A94/2) over a coaxial cable
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3) over a coaxial cable
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals that are received via the antenna amplifier are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.
Transmit signals
The initial parameters are transmitted over the following connections:
- MOST
- Direct line
MOST
The TV tuner (analog/digital) sends audio signals to the COMAND controller unit or to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system or code (811) Advanced sound system).
Direct line
The TV tuner (analog/digital) sends video signals over Y/C lines to the COMAND controller unit.
Apart from this, the following components are supplied with a phantom voltage:
- TV 1 antenna amplifier
- TV 2 antenna amplifier
- TV 3 antenna amplifier
