	Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught  or crushed  by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand	Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. 3	Switch on dynamometer test using steering wheel buttons	Model 197	AR54.30-P-1000-02QQ
		To avoid measurement errors through an active brake intervention by the Electronic Stability Program (ESP(r)). Do not switch off ESP(r) using the ESP Sport Off button on the center console.
4	Move vehicle with front axle into roller brake test stand	For model 164, 166, 251 the brake test per axle must not last longer than ≈10 s. The drivetrain and/or brake system will otherwise be damaged. In the transmission roller dynamometer with the engine running, shift to the "N" or "neutral" position. 5	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on brake pedal for front axle and document	Press brake pedal uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the brake pedal are to be documented at maximum value. In the event of brake-fluid fluctuations or a pulsating brake pedal, determine the reason and rectify subject to separate repair order.
6	Move vehicle with rear axle into roller brake test stand	For model 164, 166, 251 the brake test per axle must not last longer than ≈10 s. The drivetrain and/or brake system will otherwise be damaged. In the transmission roller dynamometer with the engine running, shift to the "N" or "neutral" position.
7	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on brake pedal for rear axle and document	Press brake pedal uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the brake pedal are to be documented at maximum value. 8.1	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on parking brake for rear axle and document	Vehicles with manual parking brake Operate parking brake uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the parking brake are to be documented at maximum value.

8.2	Determine brake values for electric parking brake and document	Vehicles with electric parking brake Before operating the electric parking brake, the rear-axle wheels must be driven for at least 10 s by the roller brake test stand. In order to prevent damage, thereupon the brake shoes make contact in as low manner. Briefly press switch of electric parking brake once, do not hold. Otherwise damage will occur. Model 166, 172, 246: The electric parking brake brakes briefly before changing to the roller dynamometer mode. After 2 to 5 s press the switch of the electric parking brake again briefly, the electric parking brake brakes with greater brake power. If necessary, after 2 to 5 s briefly press the switch of the electric parking brake a third and a fourth time until the wheels lockup. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented.
9	Release parking brake and drive vehicle out of roller brake test stand
10	Set electric selection switch in engine compartment to "FUNCTION" position	Model 124.226/230/290/330/333/393
11	Switch off dynamometer test via steering wheel buttons	Model 197	AR54.30-P-1000-02QQ
12	Evaluate documented brake values	If the specified minimum requirements and tolerance limits for the brake system scopes to be tested are not complied with, this must be rejected and rectified subject to separate repair order, after a conducted diagnosis and the corresponding findings.
