Headlight switch off delay function - GF82.10-P-2011SX

Function
A differentiation is always made between the locator lighting (AFB) and headlamp switch-off delay (SWA) functions. Both functions are used to illuminate the vehicle environment when leaving or approaching the vehicle.
The following components are actuated for illumination of the vehicle environment:
- by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Left standing and parking lights (E1e3)
- Right standing and parking lights (E2e3)
- Left front fog lamp (E5/1)
- Right front fog lamp (E5/2)
- Left front side-marker lamp
(E6/1)
- Right front side-marker lamp
- by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Left brake light, taillight and parking light (E3e9)
- Right brake light, taillight and parking light (E4e9)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
- Right license plate lamp (E19/2)
- Left rear side-marker lamp
- Right rear side-marker lamp
- by the left door control unit (N69/1) (model 216) or left front door control unit (N69/1) (model 221)
- Left outside mirror ambient lamp (M21/1e1)
- by the right door control unit (N69/2) (model 216) or right front door control unit (N69/2) (model 221)
- Right outside mirror ambient lamp (M21/2e1)
For vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch, the components for the trailer standing lights function are actuated by the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) over the trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58).
Headlamp delayed switch-off
Function requirements
- Function activated via the COMAND controller unit (A40/3)
- Engine switched off
- Rain/light sensor (B38/2) signals "DARKNESS"
- Rotary light switch (S1) in "Auto" position (with
vehicles)
Function
After switching off the engine, the vehicle ambient light function is activated for a period of approx. 60 s.
When a door or the trunk lid is opened, the function sequence starts again. Once all the doors are closed again, the function is triggered again for approx. 15 s.
The information "headlamp switch-off delay (SWA) active" is sent by the front SAM control unit to the instrument cluster (A1) to activate or suppress the light warning.
