- Additional functions for driving lights actuation, function (with code (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination or code (616) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated asymmetrical curve illumination or code (621) Intelligent Light System (left-hand traffic) or code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic))
- Front fog light actuation, function
- Turn signal indicator actuation, function
- Brake light actuation, function
- Backup lamp actuation, function
- Headlight switch off delay function
- Substitute lights and emergency lights actuation, function
Function sequence, switching off the exterior lights
Switching off the exterior lights prevents the on-board electrical system battery (G1) from being discharged by the active low beam and standing light actuation.
The low beams may be switched on because of the auto on/off headlamps, the daytime running lights or manually via the rotary light switch (S1). A prerequisite for this is the status of circuit 15 On. If circuit 15 is Off, the low beams are switched off.
The standing lights may be switched on because the low beams have been manually switched on, because of the auto on/off headlamps, the daytime running lights or manually via the rotary light switch.
If the standing lights were switched on manually (rotary lights switch set to "Standing lights" position), the standing lights are not switched off.
If the standing lights have been activated by manually switching on the low beams, the auto on/off headlamps or the daytime running lights and the driver door is then opened with a transmitter key (A8/1) in the EZS control unit (N73), the standing lights are switched off.
If the "Locator lighting" function has been activated via COMAND control unit (A40/3), it automatically switches itself on when the engine is turned off. The standing lights remain switched on for an adjustable time interval of no more than t = 60s. The ambient illumination function is described separately in the appropriate service information.
