Task 

Central control and display device for entertainment and communications systems integrated into vehicle 

The radio provides the user with a structured and uniform interface.

IMPORTANT The radio generates a structured and standard interface, which is then shown on the Audio/COMAND display.

Reading in the controls and input signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

CAN 

The radio is a subscriber of the interior CAN (CAN B) and the telematics CAN (CAN A).

Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) 

The radio receives control and audio signals from the following control units:

Direct line 

The radio is equipped with the following direct connections:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input values are processed in the radio.

Actuates output media 

The signals are transmitted via the following connections:

The radio is a subscriber of the interior CAN and the telematics CAN.

Function 

The button signals for the operating panels on the radio are read in and made available to the integrated central computer. Button actuation is processed further in the central computer. If the "ON" button on the radio is pressed, the radio switches on. The volume is regulated for each audio source set by turning the ON button.

CD drive or CD changer with integrated CD drive 

The integrated CD drive can be used to play audio CDs (including in MP3 format).

Pressing the function keys in the left button panel enables the user to switch to the desired system components.
