Removing/installing the deceleration air valve - AR09.40-P-3001R (SL600, SL65 AMG)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing/installing    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the and position the four support plates below the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000R
2 Remove engine trim panel IMPORTANTInstallation:  Install only after inspection.  
    Model 230.476 AR01.10-P-2405LA
    Model 230.479 AR01.10-P-2405IM
3 Remove engine compartment paneling IMPORTANTInstallation:  Install only after inspection. AR61.20-P-1105R
  Right deceleration air valve     
4 Unscrew bolts (3) of deceleration air valve (110/4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA09.40-P-1014-01H 
5 Remove right pneumatic line (4a) on the deceleration air valve (110/4) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check pneumatic line on the right (4a) and hose clamps for damage; replace if necessary.  
  Left deceleration air valve     
6 Unscrew bolts (5) of deceleration air valve (110/4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA09.40-P-1014-01H 
7 Remove left pneumatic line (4b) on the deceleration air valve (110/4) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check pneumatic line on the left (4b) and hose clamps for damage; replace if necessary.  
8 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Checking     
9 Detach pneumatic line on the right (4a) and pneumatic line on the left (4b) from T-piece (7) INSPECT Check pneumatic lines and hose clamps for damage; replace if necessary.  
10 Pressurize deceleration air valve with a vacuum of 700 millibar IMPORTANT If the vacuum drops within a minute to maximum 50 millibar, then the deceleration air valve is OK.
