Tasks of system diagnosis control module (N55)
- Permanent fault monitoring and localization, also during driving
- Status polls all control modules on the interior CAN and checks whether they are currently active on the CAN data bus
- Logging the transmitted fault codes and process variables from the control modules (interior CAN) in the form of fault scenarios
- Analysis, processing and control module-encompassing restriction of suspicious components
- For fault output the Diagnosis Assistant System (DAS) must be connected to the diagnostic connector (X11/4) via the K-wire. The following information is output by the system diagnosis control module (N55) :
- System diagnosis result/fault code and fault text
- Suspicious components
- Affected vehicle functions
- Inspection instructions

The system diagnosis stores fault scenarios for the antitheft alarm system (ATA) . These fault scenarios provide information on the cause of an alarm that has been triggered
