ABC suspension strut, component description - GF32.50-P-2001R
MODEL 230 as of 1.3.06 with CODE (487) Active Body Control (ABC)
The front axle suspension struts are secured to the bottom of the transverse control arm and to the top of the body spring tower.
The rear axle suspension struts are secured to the bottom of the spring control arm and to the top of the spring tower.
The suspension struts take over all of the following functions:
- suspension
- level control
- level adjustment and
- damping.
The suspension struts form a unit consisting of hydraulic cylinder, steel spring and shock absorber.
A plunger travel sensor is no longer fitted. The function of the plunger travel sensor is performed by the following pressure sensors:
- Left front ABC pressure sensor (B4/8)
- Right front ABC pressure sensor (B4/9)
- Left rear ABC pressure sensor (B4/10) and
- Right rear ABC pressure sensor (B4/11)
