Remove outer rear wheelhouse - AR63.10-P-0660-01SX

  1. Mark separation lines on outer rear wheelhouse (1) (area B).
  2. Drill hole (area A).

    IMPORTANT Hole serves for positioning body saw.

  3. Cut outer rear wheelhouse (1) along cutting line with body saw (area B).

    NOTES Do not damage C-pillar below and inner wheelhouse.

    IMPORTANT Observe water drain hose (2).

  4. Expose spot welds on outer rear wheelhouse (1) (areas C and D).
  5. Cut out spot welds on outer rear wheelhouse (1) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Vario drill spot weld removing tool (areas C and D).

  6. Expose spot welds on outer rear wheelhouse (1) (areas E, F, G, H and I).
  7. Cut out spot welds on outer rear wheelhouse (1) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Vario drill spot weld removing tool (areas E, F, G, H and I).

  8. Remove damaged outer rear wheelhouse (1)
  9. Expose spot welds on remaining outer rear wheelhouse section (2) (area J).
  10. Cut out spot welds on remaining outer rear wheelhouse section (2) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Vario drill spot weld removing tool (area J).
  11. Mark separation line on remaining outer rear wheelhouse section (2) (area K).

  12. Mark separation line on remaining outer rear wheelhouse section (2) with body saw (area K).
  13. Remove remaining section (4).
  14. Heat foam piece (3) on remaining outer rear wheelhouse section (2) with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS hot air gun.
  15. Grind mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas down to bare metal with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  16. Remove grinding and drill shavings with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  17. Coat insides of spot welding flanges and rivet connections with zinc dust paint.
