Check and correct power steering fluid level - AP46.00-P-4611GZ

MODEL 164 with ENGINE 113, 156, 272, 273, 629, 642

	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid	Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
		Before opening the hydraulic circuit of the power steering, thoroughly clean the surrounding area of the separation point. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions and damage to the power steering.
1	Switch off ignition
2	Remove upper engine cover	Engine 156, 642, 629 without EHPS In order to avoid damage, put upper engine cover down on padded base. install upper engine cover only after completing all maintenance operations. Engine 156
		Engine 629, only front section	AR01.10-P-2405GZD
		Engine 642	AR01.10-P-2405GZB
3	Remove cap (1) of power steering expansion reservoir (2)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn counterclockwise through 90°.
	Clean
4	Wipe oil dipstick (3) with lint-free rag and seal expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn clockwise through 90°.
	Checking
5	Remove cap (1) again and read off oil level on oil dipstick (3), correct oil level if necessary	Observe oil temperature and markings on oil dipstick (3). The oil level must be at the MAX marking (A) corresponding to the oil temperature. In order to avoid measurement errors, hold oil dipstick (3) upright. If the fluid level is too low, determine cause and remedy subject to a separate order.
