Location 

The upper control panel control unit is located in the center of the instrument panel.

Structure (model 251) 

The upper control panel control unit contains the following operating and display components:

Task 

The upper control panel control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of switches and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The signals of the switches located on the upper control panel control unit are then read in directly by it.

Instrument panel LIN 

The signals from the following component are read-in over the instrument panel LIN:

Interior CAN 

The signals are read in by the upper control panel control unit over the interior CAN.

The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Components are actuated via the following lines:

Instrument panel LIN 

The following components are actuated via the instrument panel LIN:

The signals are sent by the upper control panel control unit over the interior CAN.
