Remove/install front engine mount and/or engine support - AR22.10-P-1260FHB

ENGINE 276.9 in MODEL 204, 207, 212 with TRANSMISSION 722.96

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
IMPORTANT Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws   AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
IMPORTANT Notes on battery   AH54.10-P-0001-01A
1 Remove front engine cover    
2 Detach ground line from battery MODEL 204 AR54.10-P-0003CW
MODEL 207, 212 AR54.10-P-0003EW
3 Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)

MODEL 212 AR07.08-P-7008EL
4 Detach vacuum reservoir (1) from ME-SFI [ME] control unit bracket (2) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)  
5 Remove LH oxygen sensor (G3/3) upstream of catalytic converter (13) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)

6 Detach poly-V belt and (10) and lock clamping device When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)

7 Remove power steering pump (11) from cylinder crankcase and place to one side with attached lines Model 204, 207, for removal of the left engine mount (7) and engine support (8)
IMPORTANT Secure power steering pump (11) against falling down.
 
8 Remove screw/bolt from A/C compressor (A9) on engine support (8) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)  
9 Remove left heat shield (12) from exhaust manifold together with bracket (2) for ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)

10 Remove screw/bolts from starter heat shield on engine support (8) When removing left-hand engine mount (7) and engine support (8)  
11 Remove air filter housing with engine air intake duct upstream of air filter When removing right-hand engine mount (7)  
12 Remove RH oxygen sensor (G3/4) upstream of catalytic converter (14) When removing right-hand engine mount (7)

13 Detach right heat shield (15) from exhaust manifold When removing right-hand engine mount (7)  
14 Detach alternator (G2) from cylinder crankcase and secure against falling down When removing right-hand engine mount (7)

IMPORTANT The electrical lines remain on the alternator (G2).

15 Remove heat shield (3) over engine mount (7) at engine support (8)    
16 Mount engine hoist and raise engine slightly MODEL 204, MODEL 207 AR33.10-P-0105CW

IMPORTANT Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mount (7) is not under tension.

17 Remove screw/bolts (5) for engine support (8) on engine mounts (7) SPECIAL TOOL Engine mount wrench set Figure
18 Raise engine IMPORTANT Pay attention when lifting out engine that no cables and lines are damaged and that engine does not lean against the bulkhead.  
19 Remove screw/bolts (6) for engine mount (7) on front axle carrier (33)    
20 Detach left engine support (8) from cylinder crankcase and remove upwards When removing left-hand engine mount (7)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure before mounting the engine support (8) that the engine mount (7) is located in the engine compartment.
 
21 Remove engine mount (7) upwards INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that the correct installation position is obtained when assembling the engine mount (7).
IMPORTANT Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (7). Dispose engine mounts (7) into mixed scrap.
 
22 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling When removing the right-hand engine support (8)

MODEL 204 (except 204.9), MODEL 207, MODEL 212 AR61.20-P-1105EW
23 Remove heat shield (16) above front axle transmission drive shaft When removing the right-hand engine support (8)  
24 Remove collar bolt from front axle transmission on engine support (8) When removing the right-hand engine support (8)  
25 Detach RH engine support (8) from cylinder crankcase and remove upwards When removing the right-hand engine support (8)  
26 Install in the reverse order
