MODIFICATION NOTES

13.10.09 The installation location of the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) has changed As of model year 2010  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge All models AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and temporarily store basic data from rear SAM control unit (N10/8) in STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT Only when installing a new rear SAM control unit (N10/8).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer the temporarily stored basic data to the new rear SAM control unit (N10/8).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2.1 Remove cover (1) from load compartment side trim IMPORTANT Only on vehicles up to model 2010.  
2.2 Fold down rear seat on the passenger-side IMPORTANT Only on vehicles as of to model 2010.  
3 Separate electrical connectors (2)    
4 Unclip rear SAM control unit(N10/8) upwards out of the retaining clamps and remove INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to line routing.  
5 Disconnect electrical connector (3)    
6 Remove rear SAM control unitN10/8    
7 Install in the reverse order
