Operation step 1

	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go: Press keyless go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it at a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
2	Transfer basic data from instrument cluster (A1) to STAR DIAGNOSIS	Only when replacing the instrument cluster (A1). Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS to instrument cluster (A1). On vehicles with  retrofitted iPOD and without  telephone the "Telephone"  menu item in the "Instrument cluster"  menu must be set from "NOT PRESENT"  to "PRESENT"  with STAR DIAGNOSIS, to enable the iPOD to be operated via the multifunction steering wheel. 3	Extend steering wheel fully and lower fully
4	Insert extraction hooks into slots (1) of instrument cluster (A1) and release lock	Move the extraction hooks upwards.

5	Pull out instrument cluster (A1)	Do not damage the dashboard. Press the instrument cluster (A1) in evenly.
6	Disconnect electrical connector (3) and remove instrument cluster (A1)
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Read out fault memory and erase		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
9	Carry out function check
