Location
The backup camera control unit (N66/2) is located under the left front seat.
Task
- Performing self-diagnosis after activation
- Calculation and generation of graphical displays based on steering angle and vehicle data
- Overlay the camera pictures with the extension lines and transfer them to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) as a Composite Video Baseband Signal (CVBS)
- Voltage supply for backup camera (B84/3)
- Voltage supply to passenger-side outside mirror backup camera (B84/6)
- Data transfer of backup camera status (on/off) to COMAND operating, display and controller unit
- Storage of last used parking mode (Last Parking Mode)
- Generate commands to output acoustic warning messages. The warning messages are output via the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
The backup camera control unit is a user in the Interior CAN and can be diagnosed via the central gateway control unit (N93). The backup camera control unit is always active and operates in the background.
