Read in the functions 

The signals of the following buttons

• Scroll forward/back button (S110s1),
• System selection button (S110s3),
• Button + and -, adjustment of specific functions and volume control (S111s1)
• Accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3)

are read in by the LIN (Local Interconnect Network) from the steering column module (N80).

The steering column module sends the signals of the buttons to the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment (CAN-C) for further processing and via the central gateway (N93) to the Controller Area Network bus class B (engine compartment) (CAN-B) to be forwarded to the respective control units.
