  1. Determine potential closed-circuit accessories on circuit which is subject of complaint.

IMPORTANT The assignment and line connections of the fuse blocks are given in the insert or wiring diagrams for model 463. The location of components can be obtained from the wiring diagrams model 463.

  2. Connect digital multimeter with no-load current test adapter 1 MPECIAL TOOL or 2 MPECIAL TOOL instead of the fuse of the no-load current consumer to be tested.

    IMPORTANT Digital multimeter

  3. Disconnect electrical connector on the possible no-load current consumer.

IMPORTANT If the electrical connectors on control units have been disconnected, the power consumption can increase for up to 4 minutes, with an overhead control panel control unit (N70) for up to 30 minutes.

  4. Read off quiescent current on the digital multimeter:
    • Quiescent current ≤20 mA:

Quiescent current error is rectified after disconnecting the connector of the relevant component. Component is defective. As a further check, check total quiescent current.

    • Quiescent current > 20 mA:

Quiescent current fault still exists after separating the connector. Component is OK, fit connector in again at the component tested.

  5. Carry out testing on all components at the corresponding current path as described.
