Remove/install upper control panel control unit - AR54.21-P-1262TX

MODEL 219.3 up to 2.3.08 except CODE (809) Model year 2009

MODIFICATION NOTES

5.7.06 "Disconnect/connect battery ground line" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Buffer basic data of upper control panel control unit (N72/1) in STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing upper control panel control unit (N72/1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS to upper control panel control unit (N72/1).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04TX
2.1 Remove center stowage compartment. On vehicles without code (819) CD changer AR68.10-P-1620TX
2.2 Remove CD changer On vehicles with code (819) CD-changer AR82.64-P-7508TX
3 Unclip electrical connector (10) from bracket (1) On vehicles without code (819) CD changer  
4 Unclip bracket (1) from housing (2) and remove On vehicles without code (819) CD changer  
5 Undo bolts (3) and detach UCP [OBF] carrier open and close motor (M8) from lever (4) of housing (2) On vehicles without code (819) CD changer
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The meshing of the shaft (5) must engage with the lever (4) of the housing (2).
 
6 Open cover (6) all the way On vehicles without code (819) CD changer  
7 Remove bolts (7)    
8 Detach cover (8) far enough from the lid (6) to enable access to the electrical connectors (9)    
9 Detach electrical connectors (9) and remove the cover (8) from the lid (6)    
10 Remove upper control panel control unit (N72/1) from cover (8) IMPORTANT The upper control panel control unit (N72/1) is bolted on using three bolts to the cover (8).  
11 Install in the reverse order
