Location 

The backup camera control unit is located behind the paneling on the left side of the luggage compartment.

Task 

The reversing camera control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 

  Reading in of signals 

  The input factors are read in with the following connections:

• Interior CAN 
• Direct line 

Interior CAN 

The following signals are read in with interior CAN by the: by the central gateway control unit (N93):

• the signals from the steering angle sensor via the steering column tube module (N80) (N49)
• the status "Reversing camera activated" and vehicle speed signal by the instrument cluster A1

by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2):

• Liftgate status (trunk lid rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/7s3))

by the EZS control unit (N73)

• Circuit status (circuit 15)

Direct line 

The following component is read in over a direct line:

• Reversing camera (B84/3)

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The following components are actuated with a direct line:

• Backup camera
• COMMAND controller unit (A40/3)
