Standing lights actuation

Function

The upper control panel control unit reads in the switch position of the rotary light switch over the UCP [OBF] LIN and forwards the request over the interior CAN to the front SAM control unit. The front SAM control unit then transmits it to the rear SAM control unit.

Actuations

The front SAM control unit sends a "Standing lights function active" message to the upper control panel control unit over the interior CAN, and in response the upper control panel control unit switches on the indicator lamp in the rotary light switch over the UCP [OBF] LIN.

Lights on warning

Function

The logic for actuating the lights warning function is stored in the instrument cluster.

The front SAM control unit transmits the "Standing lights function active" information over the interior CAN to the central gateway control unit which then makes it available to the instrument cluster on the central CAN.

The instrument cluster links this information with the rotary tumbler switch status, the circuit status of the EIS [EZS] control unit and the headlamp switch-off delay function.

With the standing lights function active, the EIS [EZS] control unit transmitter key removed and the driver door open, the warning buzzer is actuated with a delay of approx. 2 s by the instrument cluster.

In addition, the "Switch off lights" message appears in the multifunction display of the instrument cluster.

IMPORTANT The warning buzzer is actuated for auto on/off headlamps when the driver door is open, when the standing lights function is switched active, with circuit 15C (transmitter key inserted) and with the headlamp switch-off delay inactive.

Parking lights actuation

Function

The upper control panel control unit reads in the switch position of the rotary light switch over the UCP [OBF] LIN and forwards the request over the interior CAN to the front SAM control unit.

The front SAM control unit then transmits it to the rear SAM control unit.

Left parking lights

The front SAM control unit actuates the left standing and parking lights.

The rear SAM control unit receives the "left parking lights On" request over the interior CAN and actuates the left brake light, taillight and parking light.

Right parking lights

The front SAM control unit actuates the right standing and parking lights.

The rear SAM control unit receives the "right parking lights On" request over the interior CAN and actuates the right brake light, taillight and parking light.

Vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch

The trailer recognition control unit receives the corresponding request over the interior CAN from the front SAM control unit and actuates the trailer hitch socket.
