Front fog lamp actuation
Function requirements

Function
The switch position of the rotary light switch is read in over the UCP [OBF] LIN by the upper control panel control unit.
The upper control panel control unit places the request on the interior CAN.
The front SAM control unit receives the request and actuates the front fog lamps.
The front fog lamps indicator lamp in the rotary light switch visually indicates that the front fog lamps are switched on.
Rear fog lights actuation

Function
The switch position of the rotary light switch is read in over the UCP [OBF] LIN by the upper control panel control unit.
The upper control panel control unit places the request on the interior CAN. The request is forwarded by the front SAM control unit to the rear SAM control unit.
The rear SAM control unit actuates the left rear fog light.
The rear fog lamp indicator lamp in the rotary light switch provides visual feedback that the left rear fog light is on.
Vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch
The front SAM control unit forwards the request over the interior CAN to the trailer recognition control unit which actuates the trailer hitch socket.
During trailer operation, the left rear fog light on the tractor vehicle is not actuated.
