ABC suspension strut, component description - GF32.50-P-2001SX

MODEL 216.3 up to Model Year 8 

MODEL 221.0 /1 with CODE (487) Active Body Control (ABC) up to Model Year 8 

Location 

In each case the suspension struts are fastened at the bottom to the transverse control arm and at the top to the spring tower.

Task 

The suspension struts take over the implementation of the following functions:

The suspension struts form a unit consisting of hydraulic cylinder, steel spring and shock absorber.

Function 

The suspension struts are supplied with oil pressure depending on the driving condition and selected setting. Oil pressure is supplied via the ABC front axle valve unit (Y36/1) or via the ABC rear axle valve unit (Y36/2).
