Remove/install wheel sensor - AR40.15-P-0080CW

MODEL 171, 204, 209 with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (Schrader) with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (Schrader)

REMOVING Removing     
IMPORTANT Notes on using tester for tire pressure monitoring systems Tester MB 2000E AH40.15-P-0001-01A 
1 Remove valve cap (1) NOTES Only use valve caps (1) made of plastic otherwise corrosion damage will occur  
2 Detach tires Model 204 AR40.10-P-1030CW 
    Model 171, 209 AR40.10-P-1030A
3 Unscrew collar nut (2) from valve body (3) and remove    
4 Remove tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) with valve body (3) from disk wheel    
5 Remove seal (5) and support ring (6) from valve body (3)    
6 Remove valve body (3) of tire pressure sensor (A69/1 to A69/4) When reusing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)  
CLEAN Clean     
7 Clean tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) When reusing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)
IMPORTANT Only remove dirt with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not use compressed air, solvents or cleaners.
IMPORTANT The tire pressure sensor (A69/1 to A69/4) can also be reused after using TIREFIT tire sealant.
 
8 Clean the disk wheel in the area of the valve bore    
INSPECT Checking     
9 Carry out visual inspection of tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) IMPORTANT Replace tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) if damage is detectable.  
10 Check disk wheel for damage in the area of the valve bore    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Detach label (4) with identification number (I) from tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) and glue into maintenance booklet When replacing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)  
12 Replace valve body (3) and valve element (7) When reusing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)
IMPORTANT Insert square of valve body (3) in the guide on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) so that this is fixed in position.
 
13 Mount support ring (6) and seal (5) on valve body (3) IMPORTANT The cone on the support ring (6) must seat correctly in the contour of the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4).
IMPORTANT Observe installation position (see arrow).
 
14 Insert valve body (3) with tire pressure sensor which is free to move (A69/1 up to A69/4) from the inside outwards in the valve bore of the disk wheel    
15 Tighten collar nut (2) on valve body (3) IMPORTANT Observe the correct collar nut design for steel wheels or light alloy wheels.
IMPORTANT When tightening the collar nut (2), press the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4) lightly into the drop center and press towards the valve bore of the disk wheel.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION

16 Mount tire Model 204 AR40.10-P-1030CW 
    Model 171, 209 AR40.10-P-1030A
IMPORTANT To activate the tire pressure monitor, carry out operation step 17 or 18 as an alternative    
17 Code the identification number (I) of tire pressure sensor (A69/1 to A69/4) and specified tire pressure in the tire pressure monitor control unit using STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Process all steps under: "Control units" -"Chassis" - "TPM tire pressure monitor" -"Initial startup" - "Initial startup with manual settings input for new control unit".
 
18 Activate the tire pressure monitoring system When replacing the tire pressure sensor (A69/1 up to A69/4)
