Location

The front level sensors are bolted to the respective front wheel well of the body.

The rear level sensors are bolted to the left or right side of the axle housing of the rear axle.

Task

The signals from the level sensors are used to determine the current vehicle level and shock absorber speed.

The spring travel and speed of spring travel change are transmitted to the level sensors through a lever. A corresponding voltage signal is generated via the potentiometer integrated in the level sensor.

On vehicles without code (483) ADVANCED AGILITY package, evaluation is performed by the left xenon light control unit (E1n1). On vehicles with code (483) ADVANCED AGILITY package, evaluation is performed by the adaptive damping system control unit (N51/2).
