	Installing, removing
1.1	Remove upper engine cover	Engine 271, 642: Pull off the engine cover upward. Installation engine 642:  Ignition switched off.

1.2	Detach front engine cover	Engines 156, 272, 273, 276
1.3	Remove boot between upper charge air duct and air filter housing and detach charge air duct from cylinder head cover	Engine 278	AR09.41-P-8620ELB
2	Mount preassembled engine lifting device (01) on strut towers and longitudinal member.	When mounting the engine hoist (01), ensure that the surfaces in the area of the suspension strut towers do not have any scratches, cracks and notches. Ensure that in the area of the longitudinal members no hoses and lines are pinched. The support of the engine lifting device (01) must  be mounted so the firmly-seated spacer sleeve (arrow) points outwards. Observe manufacturer's assembly specifications and safety information.

4	Adjust engine lifting device (01) and tighten bolted connection
5	Mount shackle (2) on the engine suspension lug (1)
6	Pretension lifting device (3); to do so tighten the clamping screw (4)
7	Remove in the reverse order
