Location 

The instrument panel PARKTRONIC warning indicator is located in the middle of the dashboard.

Location 

The rear PARKTRONIC warning indicator is located in the rear of the headliner.

Design 

The PARKTRONIC warning indicators each consist of 12 yellow and 4 red light emitting diodes (LED) and a sound sensor.

Task 

• Obstacle detection

  During obstacle detection the distances are initially signaled visually to the driver by the yellow LEDs lighting, then by the red LEDs lighting and also by an acoustic warning issued by the transducer integrated in the warning indicator.

• Standby

  The standby status means the PARKTRONIC is active without an obstacle being recognized. Here the two yellow, horizontal "Standby bars" in the warning indicators light with reduced brightness.

• Self test

  Following successful self-test all LEDs in the rear warning indicators are fully actuated for t = 1 s.

• Malfunction

  If a malfunction occurs during operation, it is indicated by the red LEDs of each affected warning indicator lighting up. A warning sound is not emitted.

• Fault

If a system error or a fault is detected during a function test while driving, the red LEDs of the affected warning indicator are actuated. A warning tone is also emitted for t = 2 s.
