Remove paneling in trunk - AR68.30-P-4600CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Lift trunk floor paneling (1) and hook into sealing frame on trunk lid (8). IMPORTANT If it is not necessary to remove the trunk floor paneling (1) for further work.  
1.2 Unclip expansion clips (2) and remove trunk floor paneling (1) IMPORTANT It is not necessary to remove the trunk floor paneling (1) for further work.  
2 Remove spare tire well paneling (3) When equipped with TIREFIT.  
3 Loosen nuts (4), do not unscrew completely, then unclip rear center section paneling (5) from clips (6) with assembly wedge and remove upward. SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The lugs (7) must reach into the recesses (arrows B) on the left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10).

4 Remove lashing eyes (11) IMPORTANT In vehicles without code (287) Through-loading feature, expansion clips must be removed instead of anchoring lugs (11).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.50-P-1001-03I 
5 Remove carrier plate cover (12) from trunk IMPORTANT Remove carrier plate cover (12) also for removal of left side paneling (9) or right side paneling (10).  
6.1 Unlock rear seat backrest and push forward until left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) is exposed behind rear seat backrest. For vehicles without code (287) Through-loading feature
IMPORTANT To remove and install left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10).

6.2 Fold over left and right rear seat backrest For vehicles with code (287) Through-loading feature
IMPORTANT To remove and install left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10).
 
7 Remove anchoring lug (13) on left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) IMPORTANT In vehicles without code (287) Through-loading feature, expansion clips must be removed instead of anchoring lugs (13).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.50-P-1001-03I 
8 Remove expansion clips (14) on left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10)    
9 Press pin (15) out of pocket hook (16) with screwdriver and remove pocket hook (16) from left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10).    
10 Remove right trunk lamp (E18/4) IMPORTANT When removing right side paneling (10).  
11 First loosen left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) from wheel arches with lower area toward vehicle center and then remove from trunk. IMPORTANTInstallation:  Position left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) below trunk lid sealing frame (8) and below rear shelf (17) (arrows A).
On vehicles with code (287) Through-loading feature, ensure that the left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) are positioned correctly below the corresponding side bolster (18) on the rear seat backrest (arrows C).
Also on vehicles without code (287) Through-loading feature, the left side paneling (9) and right side paneling (10) must be positioned properly at the same point.
 
12 Install in the reverse order
